Welcome to our Year 2 Class Family page

It’s a year filled with love and laughter. It will be hard work along the way but our days will be full of fun and exciting opportunities. In Year 2 we want all of the children to enter and exit with huge smiles on their faces beaming about their learning.  

Entry & exit  

You will enter the school grounds through the left gates and walk down the path onto the school playground. On the right side, you will see a grass bank with a path. In the morning, children will line up on the path and enter through the purple doors. At home time, the teaching staff will dismiss the children through the class door which is the first door on the right in front of the flower planters.  

Assessment  

Year 2 SATS in Reading and Mathematics.  

Children will take part in testing at the end of May during a two week period. These tests are not presented as tests so children are often unaware they are doing them as we like to call them Secret Agent Training. They consist of two reading papers and two Mathematics papers (Arithmetic and reasoning). They are sat under test conditions and children are often split into two groups. SATS papers are marked internally and are in place to support the next class teacher with where the children are in their current learning journey.
